Peep game...

German startup Loremo AG will debut its concept car at the Geneva Motor Show this week. "Loremo" is derived from "low resistance mobile," and embodies the company's philosophy of efficient transportation that consumes minimal resources during both production and operation. In practice, this means lightweight, aerodynamic vehicles with phenomenal fuel efficiency.

The Loremo will be offered in two models, the LS and GT. The LS is powered by a 20 hp, 2-cylinder turbodiesel, while the GT gets a 50 hp, 3-cylinder unit. Both are 2 2, mid-engine/RWD configurations with a 5-speed gearbox. The GT will go from 0-62 mph in 9 seconds, but the real strength of the Loremo is fuel efficiency - the GT consumes only 2.7 liters per 100 km, while the LS needs only 1.5 liters/100 km. According to my calculator, the LS will go over 150 miles on a gallon of diesel! More after the jump.

Light weight and low drag are the watchwords for Loremo - the LS weighs only 990 lb, with a Cd of 0.2.

According to Loremo, the LS will be priced at about $13,100, while the GT will sell for less than $18,000. The company calculates the all-in operating costs (depreciation, maintenance, insurance, fuel) of the LS model over six years to be a parsimonious 23 cents per mile. Unfortunately, the Loremo isn't scheduled for production until 2009.

thanks to AutoBlog.com for the info...

Sole Collector - Jordan Issue

Just a reminder for all of you to go out and pick up the latest issue of the Sole Collector. Its sweeping curves, variable surfaces, and dramatic climbs and drops can humble even the best drivers and has quickly earned the track a reputation for being one of the ultimate tests of driver and machine. The track, however, will soon have a new type of fan as plans are already underway to turn the area next to the circuit into a theme park.

Scheduled to be opened late next year, the star attraction of the park will be a new rollercoaster capable of accelerating to a top speed of 217km/h in just 2.5 seconds. That’s two seconds faster than a F1 car takes to reach just 200km/h, reports AutoBild. The entire length of the rollercoaster will stretch 1.2km and according to its makers the cart will be accelerated using compressed air.

In addition to the rollercoaster, organizers are planning to build a new science center and museum, a Go-Kart track and an event hall. There’ll also be a new 5000-seat grandstand, a business lounge and a 160-room four star hotel.

The Nürburgring isn’t the only track getting its own theme park. Abu Dhabi is building a new Ferrari theme park complete with an F1-spec race track and organizers have plans for even more parks in coming years.

thanks to MotorAutority for the news

Epidemic: Street Law Integrity

So I'm surfing the internet, and I run across these clips from K.A.R. movement. In case you didn't know, K.A.R. stands for Kill All Rats. It's off of the Sub-Zero (Sub 0) "American Gangster's" Edition. Watching this made me realize something. Apparently, snitching has really become weaved into the fabric of our everyday lives. It happens everywhere from the workplace, to school, to the streets. Don't get me wrong. What ever happened to NOT tattle taling? Do parents no longer tell their children to NOT be tattle tale's? Is it encouraged now? Is it b/c the bitch ass parents that were the tattle tale's, are now the parent's instilling this quality in their children? Who knows. Now, there is fine line to the rule. But, I think that these clips have a very good point of view on what is actually going on. My point with the snitching is this.

The way I see it is this. If you go into the streets and you get into something, ESPECIALLY if its lucrative, then you take the risk of going down. So if you get caught, if you weren't built for it and got caught, serve your time, suffer the consequences. It's the rule of life. When you were out there making money, and spending money while everybody was struggling, it was all good right? Why snitch? It sucks, but it's how it should be. It's the way of keeping the order. For me, that is the natural balance to taking the street way of life route. For example, if you take the school/white collar route how does it work? Well, you have education, namely university schooling. From the Bachelor Degree level, all through the Doctorate and beyond. There's rules and you have to abide by them. Some choose not too by cheating, for example. What's the consequence? Suspension. Expulsion. I mean, it could mean the end of so much. If you were to cheat at the later end of your educational career (say at the doctorate level), you have just ruined your chances of being a reputable professional. Your reputation (in other words, resume) is all you have. You lose that, you lost everything. It's the same in the streets. You fuck up, you get locked up. The street equivalent of an expulsion. But maybe it's just me. I'm not going to sit here and dwell, but just wanted to drop some food for thought. You let me know. Drop a comment.

Part 1

ATTENTION: the videos are no longer available

Part 2

ATTENTION: the videos are no longer available

Part 3

ATTENTION: the videos are no longer available

OFFICIAL Air Jordan XX3 - DVD

Here is the rip of the DVD for the Titanium XX3 release. Peep game...

Gumpert Apollo. 4.2L. V8. Bi-turbo.

Let me introduce you to the Gumpert Apollo.

Never heard of it?

Well, neither did I when I stumbled across it. So as soon as I found it at my local magazine stand (well, supermarket...out here in Miami magazine stand's don't exactly exist...) I sent my girlfriend a text message w/ the name of the car. Did she have any clue what it was? Nope. More than likely she still doesn't. But she will when she reads this. Then she'll understand why I made sure I didn't forget the name.

So...where did it come from?

Well, according to Wikipedia, Gumpert Apollo is the first supercar productged by Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH. The founder of is Roland Gumpert, former head of Audi Sport. So it's safe to say he is relatively familiar with the Audi and its extensive motor collection. Audi scored 2 drivers and 2 constructors World Rally Championship titles during his time there as the competitions chief of their Quattro division. This leads me to believe that he is a reputable source for tuning. His partner in all of this is Roland Mayer, the boss of German tuning house MTM. They are currently specializing in supercharger kits for the Audi RS4 V8 (est 550bhp), as well as, the Q7 SUV and the upcoming S4 (both est 450-500 bhp).

Now, tuning and building a supercar are two TOTALLY different things. Here is the basic gist as per the website:

"2-seater super sports car with a mid-engine arrangement chrome-molybdenum steel chassis with an integrated carbon monocoque as safety cell, gullwing doors, fibreglass body, 26.4 gall. (U.K.) stainless steel tank behind the passenger cell with integrated catch tank, long and pushrod-operated double wishbone suspension with fully adjustable dampers front and rear and anti roll bar in front, ground clearance adjustable between 40 and 120 mm, two circuit ABS brake system with six piston callipers, inside ventilated discs (378x32mm) all around, brake cooling system in the front, and presets for wet, dry, and race conditions."

Nice start though...don'tcha think?

How's the interior look you ask?

It is nothing less than German distinction at its best. The finest touches were given to every surface in the finest of the finest materials. The only thing I'm not really feeling too much is the aluminum they decided to use on the gauge console and center console. It looks kind of cheap. I'm guessing they wanted the clean look, without looking too cluttered. But personally, I probably would have added a little bit more flair to it. But other than that the interior is noice. Not nice, but noice. Try it out...

Now how does it run?

It's a nice start. It's a mid-engine, RWD with a 6-speed sequential gearbox. Then they have the Audi 4.2L V8, found in the RS4's. They have decided to add a healthy bi-turbo system boosting hp up to the area of 650bhp, with 627 ft/lb tq. According to the homepage, "an ideal weight balance of 42 to 58 percent between the front and rear axis rounds it off: During acceleration it provides optimum traction whilst ensuring stable control even when braking in critical situations." In other words, its balanced like a mofo.

Final verdict?

Now, the 4.2L Audi V8 I am relatively familiar with. I have some prior experience with the 4.2L Audi V8. But it was not in the shell of an Audi, it was actually in the Spyker C8 Spyder SWB (SWB = Short Wheel Base). I worked a private event held for Spyker and had the pleasure of taking a ride around South Beach and let me tell you. What a splendid motor (in an even more splendid car, but back on topic). It is very snappy and responsive, plenty of umph, and a very sweet exhaust tone.

Now, not only is the 4.2L V8 a hell of an engine stock, but Gumpert has decided to toss a couple of turbos on it, bringing the hp up from the modest 420hp to an est 650bhp. Not to mention that the motor only weighs in at a mere 195kg.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thesneakerazzi.blogspot.com/2008/01/gumpert-apollo-42l-v8-bi-turbo.html' title='Gumpert Apollo. 4.2L. Or should I say, power-haus. Then again, I think Bondo Buschmann, the founder and CEO of Brabus, likes it that way.

Well, here it is. Arguably the baddest C-class ever built (other than the CLK-GTR which is bananas as well). The Brabus Bullit (as this C-class is being referred to) is just the average, run of the mill 223-mph projectile ready to rip chunks of pavement out of your driveway or your local expressway. Just the shear notion of a MB v12 (which immediately gives me the mental picture of the Pagani Zonda motor shot) with twin-turbo's and a reportedly 720-horsepower makes a man quiver. What can you do with 720 hp? I can't imagine 720hp in a Ferrari or Lamborghini, let alone a compact 4 door sedan. But when I stop to think about it, all I can must er ups is ahhh....bliss.

So whats good? Peep game.

Brabus starts off with the Brabus SV12 S BiTurbo, an in-house version (w/ exclusive specifications that cannot be completely detailed) of the twin-turbo 6.0-liter Mercedes-Benz V12. The motor is fully re-built including, but not limited to, new rods, pistons, cam and ultimately ending in the new stainless exhaust. The heads are also re-machined with the full port and polishing you would expect with this type of monstrosity. Not to mention that block is also bored over to bring overall displacement up to 6,233 cc. Next is the hardware that helps with the phenomenal numbers. The turbo's. My personal favorite part of the car. The stock turbo's have been upgraded to a non specified, but absolutely, larger turbos accompanied by higher efficiency intercoolers in the stock locations.

All of this yields final numbers of: 720 hp ; 974 ft/lbs tq*

This is all put down by the MB 5 speed automatic. In case you are wondering why not the 7 speed auto? Apparently, it does not have the torque capacity of the 5 speed. Although Brabus also added its special touch to the 5 speed as well to bring it up to par. And of course a limited slip differential is packed into the pumpkin out back.

So it looks wild huh?

Now, to the cosmetic side. To me, just as important as what runs the car and how it runs. It's obvious that the car looks crazy. And we all know that it is not simply a mild reconstruction of lip spoilers or grills. This has been heavily modified. The front fascia has been modified to allow for more air to reach the monstrously deep breathing V12. There are new side skirt's, new 3-piece rear spoiler and an ILL carbon fiber aero diffuser beneath the rear bumper.

So how does it stay on the ground?

As you would expect with a car as extreme as this, you already know that coilover's are standard issue. The dampers are 10 way adjustable in both compression and rebound with springs retaining a higher spring rate. There are new stiffer antiroll bars, as well, to complement the suspension. Brakes? Ridiculous. Let's just say 15 front, 12 rear. And no I'm not talking anything other than inches. So yea. Basically, you can almost stop the rotation of the earth with these things.

And me, the wheel whore that I am, here are those specs:

f: 19x9 - 265/30 zr19 - Yokohama Advan Sport tires
r: 19x10 - 285/30 zr 19 - Yokohama Advan Sport tires

Did I mention it has an interior?

Butter soft leather. Aluminum. Alcantara. Carbon Fiber. Any questions?

So what are the numbers we are waiting for?

Brabus is promising the following:

100 km/h (62 mph) - 3.9 seconds
200 km/h (124 mph) - 10.5 seconds
300 km/h (186 mph) - 24.5 seconds.

Hopefully this number is NOT a promise:

Price: $515,000.

* - The ECU has been calibrated to reduce the output to a more manageable 811 lb-ft tq.

special thanks to Frederic Lardenois for the information.

Australia exclusive AF1 commercial.

Personally. type='text'>So its the Year of the Rat.....

And Nike aficionado's know what that means. There's some exclusive ass kick coming out to commemorate the year. They've had a few AF1's, but now they are blessing us with something a little bit different. The Free Trail. In this case the Wildwood 90 Free Trail. It is being released in two (2) different colorways. There's a Grey/White & White/White version. Both have the 'rat hair' feature (unlike the Year of the Dog AF1 which had 1 version with the 'dog hair' and 1 version without), the tradional Chinese character for the rat on the heel, and special insoles with 2 different representations for the Year of the Rat. If you are on point, then you already got them. If you aren't then you just found out they are on sale....

Michael K x Reebok EXCLUSIVE

Why am I posting this up? 2 reasons. 1, I actually shop @ Michael K. 2, I loved comic books. So here we have it. Reebok has decided to team up with Michael K (a dope boutique/HUGE sneaker spot in NYC's SoHo region) on their renown Insta Pump Fury, and create a 60 pair per shoe collection. They are going to call it the "Classic Villain" pack. There will be 4 pairs inspired by classic comic book villains. 2 being from Marvel comics (Green Goblin & Galactus), and 2 from DC comics (Sinestro & Harley Quinn). As can be expected, each shoe corresponding to the character will have matching colors to go along with the villain. Some materials being used are patent leather, pebbled leather, mesh, neoprene and a few more selections yet to be revealed. They are available now @ Michael K. and Active Warehouse.

Unreleased LeBron AF1

Ok. There is no other word for these shoes but CRACK. You know, like the CRACK that Pookie was smokin' on in New Jack City. Or maybe the kind of CRACK you see on the shores of South Beach on a beautiful summer day...or any day in Miami for that matter. These AF1's were released to Kelvin Coffey, fashion editor for XXL magazine, and of course King James himself. What are the chances of getting your hands on these? Well, I know of a few people that seem to get their hands on anything, and everything. Are you one of those lucky few? Probably not. Then again, if you have enough money, maybe you can buy yourself the connect.

Word on these is that they are a 2 of 2, with LeBron having the only other pair.

And so the year of the XX3 begins..

This year brings a metaphorical tear to my eye. In a way I'm kind of happy b/c there won't be as many Jordan's coming out for me to worry about, but in another way, I'm kind of sad it actually is coming to an end. As long as I've known kicks exist, the Air Jordan has existed. For a good part of my life, it was the only shoe that existed. But enuff of that sentimental crap and back to the business at hand. In case you didn't know, usually the new model of the Air Jordan line comes out around February 17, MJ's birthday. This year, they are actually starting early. January 25th to be exact. This shoe will be released as 23 pairs, for the top 23 Jordan Brand retailers. Personally, I think this shoe is pretty dope.

Reebok Reverse Jam Mid Returns

Thanks to Japanese brand MackDaddy. The watch works exclusively with the new Aston Martin DBS (featured in Casino Royale), which costs only about 10 times as much as the watch itself. It was first known as the Corvette Blue Devil, then became the Corvette SS, Corvette Z07 and now they seem to have settled on ZR-1. As some might know, the ZR-1 was the most powerful production Corvette C4. The Corvette C4 was introduced at the end of 1982 as an early 1984 model and continued thru the close of 1996. A run that was much too long in the eyes of many a car enthusiast. after all, a 12 year run is almost unheard of in the automobile industry.

So with all the buzz surrounding the "ZR-1", the main question has been "what motor does it have?" It was leaked that they were using a newly developed LS9 motor. Well, the rumors were correct. Below you have the first leaked official pix. Remember where you saw it first.

Jordan XX3 leaked?

This is the closest thing we have seen to the final production version. What does that mean for us? Well, they are going to create an exclusive Jordan/Levi '23/501' collection in March of '08.

Will we get any kix?

Yup. I'm gonna let the official press release speak first. There is PLENTY of time for me to divulge my opinion.....

TOKYO (Oct. 24, 2007) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced the launch of the Nissan GT-R, a new multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the concept of “an ultimate supercar for anyone, anywhere, at anytime”. The Nissan GT-R features a newly developed Premium Midship package, including the world’s first independent transaxle 4WD developed independently by Nissan. The Nissan GT-R will be available in Japan mainly through Nissan High Performance Centers nationwide from December 6th.

The Nissan GT-R was developed with a new understanding and appreciation of the Earth’s natural forces – gravity, inertial force and aerodynamics – and translates those forces into a completely new design, maximizing tire grip and airflow.

Basic vehicle dynamics and integration with the driver have also been examined, resulting in new componentry and creating a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) never seen before in the marketplace. All of these theories have been integrated to balance “speed and efficiency,” “high-output with environmental consideration” and “high performance and safety.”

Taking these factors into account, Nissan created the all-new Nissan GT-R, which offers advanced high performance for secure and enjoyable driving by minimizing the effects of climatic, road condition or driving technique limitations. The Nissan GT-R offers ultimate performance for virtually every driving situation – whether it be the Nurburgring circuit, to snow, rain or urban areas – all manageable by the GT-R driver through advanced technology and driving dynamics.

The Nissan GT-R’s unique characteristics are instilled not just in the vehicle’s design, but also through a specialized production process. Carbon fiber, aluminum and steel components are assembled with a special high-precision process, which includes a series of vibration tests. Engines and transmissions are assembled by a single craftsman in a “clean room” environment and upon completion, every GT-R undergoes a battery of comprehensive tests to ensure the proper operation of all vehicle components.

To properly support the all-new GT-R, Nissan has established special Nissan High Performance Centers, where all certified advisors and technicians have received extensive training. Total support for the GT-R owner is offered for the first three years of ownership, including measurement and adjustment of the engine, transmission and wheel alignment after the first 1000 km, and again every 12 months, free of charge.

Packaging and Driveline Suited for a Supercar
The all-new Nissan GT-R uses a Premium Midship package, an all-new, more advanced version Front Midship (FM) package utilized on other Nissan vehicles. This new package enables the use of the world’s first application of an independent transaxle 4WD system. The transaxle’s layout places the dual-clutch transmission, transfer case and final drive at the rear of the vehicle (instead of the usual front location), which enables vehicle weight to be evenly distributed throughout the car. This gives the Nissan GT-R a superb front-to-rear weight balance, while enhancing leg and foot space and allowing for an optimal pedal layout.

Under the hood, the Nissan GT-R features an all-new 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 “VR38” engine, featuring plasma-sprayed bores and a special twin-turbo exhaust manifold system. A secondary air management system enables the newly designed powerplant to provide approximately 40kg/m of torque during ordinary low-rev driving, which gives an optimum air-fuel ratio for around-town efficiency and helps the Nissan GT-R meet ultra-low emission vehicle (U-LEV) standards in Japan.

The Nissan GT-R’s new engine produces 480PS (353kW) at 6400rpm and maximum torque of 60kgm (588Nm) from 3200 to 5200rpm. Putting the power to the ground is an all-new GR6-type dual clutch transmission, with paddle shifting and a Borg Warner six-plate dual clutch for direct control.

Suspension duties are handled through a special Bilstein DampTronic*1 system, which utilizes all pertinent vehicle information to provide appropriate damping forces for all situations and helps maintain a high level of control for straight-line driving, cornering, and braking.

Braking is essential for a daily-driven supercar and the GT-R features large Brembo full-floating drilled rotors, low steel high stiffness brake pads and Brembo mono block six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, which in combination minimize fade and provide stable braking. Run-flat tires, exclusively designed for use on the Nissan GT-R, balance high grip and all-weather capabilities and a comfortable ride in all driving situations. The tires are designed to maintain structure for 80km of travel at 80 km/h, while still providing an acceptable level of performance.

High-Performance Safety and Environmental Technologies
The Nissan GT-R offers a long list of safety and environmental features, including, for enhanced visibility inside and out of the vehicle, high-mounted LED stoplamps, bright LED rear combination taillights, “super wide beam” headlights, heated door mirrors and flat-blade wipers.

Standard safety equipment includes a pop-up engine hood system for enhanced pedestrian safety, driver and front passenger SRS Air Bag System, ELR front seat belts with tension reducer, front seat belts with load limiter, and three-point ELR rear seat belts. Driver and front passenger SRS Side Air Bag System and SRS Curtain Air Bag System are offered as options.

Environmental technologies include extensive work to create an U-LEV certification in Japan for the 3.8-liter twin turbo engine and reduced levels of volatile organic compound for materials used in the car.

Functional Design – High Performance Aerodynamics and Style
The Nissan GT-R’s styling follows the function over form theory. Every styling aspect, from the overall design to the smallest details, is created to maximize the vehicle’s driving experience – as well as suggesting GT-R’s “supercar” level of performance. Utilizing advanced aerodynamics, the Nissan GT-R’s aggressive styling evokes the lines of a well-trained athlete, combining strong character lines with smooth and solid areas.

The all-new GT-R’s body is created with a combination of steel, carbon fiber and aluminum, providing a unique combination of stiffness and lightness. The Nissan GT-R features a low coefficient of drag of 0.27, with high front and rear downforce, which provides the GT-R with enhanced grip in all weather situations, while also enhancing fuel efficiency.

The front fenders express power and stability, while the “aero-blades” on the fenders’ leading edges provide optimum airflow around the tires and along the body. The scoop in the fenders’ trailing edges assists in providing front downforce and optimization of side airflow. The aggressive front end, with a large hood budge and single air intake, provides a sophisticated style as well as undisturbed airflow for power and cooling. New “super wide beam” headlights feature three additional sub-reflectors (compared to conventional lights) to give a wider spread to the illumination area.

The Nissan GT-R’s large, four-passenger cabin features a sloping “aero blade canopy” roofline and curved C-pillar “sword edge,” which expresses the distinctive GT-R identity, as well as facilitating air flow around the rear of the vehicle. The GT-R’s hallmark four-ring taillights, efficient rear spoiler and large, integrated f120 exhaust tips, provides the signature rear view of the GT-R, as well as optimizing airflow along the top and under the vehicle.

The high level of advanced technology is evident even in the Nissan GT-R’s paint – which utilizes a “double clear coat” and “anti-chipping” process. The Nissan GT-R features Ultimate Silver as a special new color, which is painstakingly hand-polished by craftsman.

An Interior Suitable for Daily Driving or Supercar Duties
Key to the Nissan GT-R’s usability as a both daily driver and a high-performance supercar is its interior, which is designed to balance functionality, a sense of ease, and comfort.

Sculpted performance bucket seats give the driver and passenger a comfortable driving experience, and soft pads are utilized on the dash in front of the passenger and doors to give an extra level of comfort and safety.

The instrument panel surrounds the driver, with all meters and multi-function meter at a uniform height to minimize the driver’s head movement when traveling at high speeds. A large center-mounted tachometer, with gear display on its upper right, as well as the easy-to-read graphics of the display, gives the driver instant detailed information, essential for the performance nature of the GT-R.

Functional style is also evident in the Nissan GT-R – each meter features a dial plate design that evokes the idea of engaged gears, as well as a three-dimensional metal-like ring, suggesting the multi-dimensional performance of the GT-R. A large, metallic-framed center console features the ergonomically designed shift lever and a red “engine start” button.

Adjustability is central to the daily-driver nature of the Nissan GT-R, with a special “set-up switch” located in the center of the instrument panel. This switch enables the driver to adjust transmission shifts, shock absorbers and the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC-R) in three settings – Normal, Comfort or R, the high-performance setting designed for the Nissan GT-R “supercar” application.

A high-speed, high-capacity CARWINGS (Japan market) navigation system, with a powerful 30GB hard disk drive, features an easy-to-use touch pad, as well as traditional navigation switches. The screen interface features not only the navigation system, but also an enriched entertainment system with a Music Box hard drive, DVD and CD player, and Bluetooth® *2 audio function.

For special use in the GT-R application, the multi-function meter also includes mechanical and driving information for safe high performance driving, including acceleration opening, brake pedal pressure, and steering angle. It also includes an “optimal gearshift map,” to emphasize economical vehicle operation.

A specially designed BOSE sound system includes two forward-facing woofers in the rear center armrest area combined with traditional door speakers. All speakers are mounted in rigid aluminum die cast panels, which combined with the design of the system itself, provide sound quality suitable for a supercar.

Pricing and Sales Target
These packs will be distributed in sets where the shoes will equal 23. For example, the first pack releasing is the Air Jordan 10 x Air Jordan 13.

The latest update is related to the pack with the famed Air Jordan 7. There was speculation as to whether it would be the Bordeaux colorway, other said the Hare colorway. Well, apparently the 'Hares' have spoken. Did you get yourself a pair? In case you are wondering why your local exclusive's spot didn't get them, it is because they were strictly sold @ the Supreme store, hence the name Supreme Trainer. Unless you live in New York, Los Angeles, or Japan, chances are the internet is your best friend right now. Here are the pix so that at least you know what to look for. I had a friend mention to me how they had slight similarities, as far as the styling queues, to the Air Jordan 5. Hmmm. Personally, I had to give it to him some merit. Whatchoothink? type='text'>Jordan Brand brings back the infamous FLIGHT CLUB!!

Thats right folks. The Jordan Brand has brought back the infamous Flight Club. Some might remember the original Flight Club from the 80's. This was a way for all of us kids to become part of something Jordan related. It died in the early 90's, but apparently with the end of the Jordan line nearing fast, they figured they would bring it back. If you aren't part of the Jumpman family, then you haven't received the invite for this. If you are...you already know.

This is the store...

I'm sure you know what this means. Their acccolades are endless. We all know that RUN-DMC revolutionized the sneaker game as we know it. Before they made the classic track My Adidas, the sneaker culture was something that was very underground and primarily only in major cities, especially and primarily New York City, followed by the other fashion capitals of the U.S. like Los Angeles, and Chicago, thanks to the likes of Clyde Frazier, Dr. J, and of course the Chuck Taylor Converse. Below I have included the pictures of the upcoming JMJ special edition. These will mark the 5 year anniversary of the death of JMJ. There will be 2 models in 4 colorways: Three colorways will be for the Adidas Brougham and a colorway of the Ultrastar.

Now, without further ado.

More Hybrid News.......

Next on Nike's agenda is a pack called the Tech pack. Not only has it been the 25th anniversary of the shoe the streets have crowned King, the Air Force 1, but they have also gone above and beyond of what we (the consumer) would consider the traditional sneaker styling. They have taken the classic stylings that have created the Nike mystique, as well as, a scarily loyal following, and have added the technology of today. 1 way they have done this began with the 1 Time Only pack. This was an experiment with the Air Max 360 technology, blended with the classic designs of their Air Max history. This was something that either you loved. Or you just straight up hated. Personally, I love it. I won't go and say that it looks good on every shoe, but it was definitely something wild. After all. For me, the reason I fell in love with Nike was the visible bubble. And as the years went on from the Air Max 1 to the Air Max 90, then the Air Max 95, the bubbles got more elaborate. So for me I was on the 'bigger the bubble the better' tip. And the 360 bubble is probably 1 of my top 3 bubbles of all time.

Don't believe the bubble is that big a deal? Look at what the sneaker industry was doing once Nike dropped it. Reebok had the Pumps and their ERS system with visible "pods" (and by no means an 'Air' system), as well as their Hexalite system, and L.A. Gear had their version of a 'visible bubble' and then the Catapult, and even the light up bubble. So it was apparent that the bubble phenomenon had some merit.

Now the point of the post, the pic. Down in Miami we have been fortunate enough to have the presence of some Nike reps at some of our sneaker events. They are referred to as 'battles' but its more like a bunch of people with the same interests getting together to talk kicks, have some drinks, and just hang out. Not only is he known for his roles in several TV shows ranging from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, to the most recent hit, Pushing Daisies, but he is also known for his his roles in several movies as well. Gone in 60 seconds being a prime example, as well as I Robot, Paid in Full, Hoodlum...I mean, the list goes on and on. Well, besides all of these accolads, Chi McBride just so happens to be an ILL sneaker head. "Recently Mr. McBride made a trip out to Nike's Innovation Kitchen and came home with a pair of Nike IK designed sneakers that epitomizes the past and the future of Nike. The "Old Meets New" Chi McBride x Nike Vintage Cortez 360 combines the upper from Nike's classic Vintage Cortez with sole of the Nike Air Max 360, Nike's newest top of the line runner." - katc

"The "Old Meets New" Nike Vintage Cortez 360 features a Salmon colored Nylon/Suede Cortez upper with a Clear 360 Midsole and a Gum outsole. As of now, the Nike Vintage Cortez 360s are a 1 of 1 Nike IK project, but with the proliferation and popularity of the Nike Hybrid, we may see something like these in the future." - katc

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thesneakerazzi.blogspot.com/2007/11/chi-mcbride-x-nik-air-cortez-360-hybrid.html' title='Chi McBride X N.I.K. It is no secret that Fat Joe (Terror Squad's finest) is an avid Air Jordan head, well, sneaker head in general. And for those that don't know, he has a very initimate relationship with the Jordan Brand. So intimate that he actually has Air Jordans with the TS logo stitched on. On these particular examples, the initials TS are stiched into the uppers, along with Jones’ number 2. The TS stands for Terror Squad which is rapper Fat Joe’s clique. It is definitely not a bad looking shoe. Personally, I don't know if I would buy it, but what I am ecstatic about is that the Jordan Brand is beginning to experiment and do some special things for us. Besides making us camp out for the crack.

The Terror Squad PE arrived at Shoe York today, for those interested.

Here are the AJ 3's

Jordan Brand to ID Team Jordan kix?

That seems to be the word right now. They are using this to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Air Force 1. A shoe that sells more than 10 million shoes a year without a SINGLE advertisement. Do the math. Well, part of their commemoration is this Air Force 1 jacket. Pretty much what it is is a 3M reflective shell, with an internal lining of a collection of the hottest Air Force 1's ever made. It sounds crazy, now look at the picture. Oh and by the way, as of this writing, it is a Japan only exclusive.

Welcome to the Sneakerazzi's blog jumpoff.

Why in the world would I create a blog? Why not? That's what I figure. I've surfed the internet for many, many years now, and I've never really found 1 spot that gave me everything I'm looking for. At least half would have worked. What am I looking for you wonder? Well.....this is what's good. Kix, Cars, Music, Kix, Money, Photography, Sports, and Kix. I'm pretty much a die hard sneaker head, and even more die hard car head. The catch is I can afford more kix that I like, than cars that I like. Ain't that a bitch.

How did it all start? Well, as for the cars, its all my uncle's fault. But I say that in the best way possible. All I really remember is being 3...4...5 years old and playing with remote controlled cars, rail cars, Matchbox cars, Hot Wheels, and all kinds of vehicles. It just created this insatiable hunger to learn and love cars to another level. Just a quick idea of what I mean. I can point out a car from up to a few hundred yards away at times. Day or Night. Make and Model. And in some cases, even the year. I have hundreds of thousands of obscure facts about all kinds of vehicles swimming in my head. I've been reading Auto periodicals since elementary school. But on a subscription basis. There was a 5 year window where I was subscribed to the top 4 car magazines in the country. They were all read from cover to cover. Nowadays, I satiate my hunger by working car shows. Mostly Hot Import Nights, along with a sprinkle of a few other shows. Working how you may ask. Well, I am actually a judge for the car shows. It's a cool gig. I love the cars, so this allows for me to be close to them, hear the details of the car from the owner themselves (some exaggerated, some not), and get paid for it. Not to mention that I also get paid travel to several locations. From Brazil, to Venezuela to just other states in this country. It's cool. I can't complain.

Where do the kix come in? Well, originally I'm from Brooklyn, NY. Born and raised, then moved to Miami for high school until today. Where I lived for the latter part of my time there is what influenced a lot of my likes nowadays. I was up in Bay Ridge. Not exactly the poorest neighborhood, although far from the richest. Growing up in Brooklyn, or New York City for that matter, you find yourself looking for a way to separate yourself from everybody. Some way to distinguish yourself. We are talking about a city where you can interact with a few thousand people a day easily Well, for my particular childhood, one way to do distinguish yourself was by what kicks you were rocking. This is a time where the Air Jordan is just beginning to take Flight. Ewing's got his own kicks jumping off. L.A. Gear has Karl Malone with the Catapult jumpoff's. Reebok is poppin off with the Pumps. Not to mention the rest of the Nike lineup, Ellesse's, Diadora's, Kswiss', Fila's, Puma's, etc. What did it for me? Jordan. I didn't even know basketball existed until MJ hit the scene. For me, if you didn't have Jordans on, you weren't really rocking anything. Yea you can be fresh, and look cool. But you just weren't doing it. Jordans just changed the whole game. I'll never forget my first pair. White and 6th grade. Cement Air Jordan IV. Size 6.5. $65. My parents got them for me off of Knickerbocker Ave. in BK. Back when size 6.5 was the first size for men. Oh you didn't know that. Better ask somebody. Or you can just look it up.

My personal favorites? Air Jordans, obviously, Air Max's, Uptowns (AF1 bka Air Force One), anything with the old school Air Max 180 bubble (illest bubble to this day in my opinion followed by the AM95 bubble and the AM360 bubble), Barkley's, Agassi's, Huarache's...I mean, basically any kix that were hot from 88-98. Plus any other hot modern kicks that come out nowadays.

What am I going to be doing in this blog? Basically reporting on anything I find related to what I love. Kix, Music (Hip Hop mainly), Cars, and light sprinkling of my amateur photography skills, sports and money making. Just something to keep myself entertained, and maybe...just maybe, keep a bunch of you reading this entertained as well.

Enjoy and welcome to Sneakerazzi Central.

LuLu.
